Dative forms

Nouns

In the first declension, the dative endings are:

puella -ae f. puellae puellis

In the second declension, the dative endings are:

word dative singular dative plural
colonus -i m. colono colonis
puer pueri m. puero pueris
magister magistri m. magistro magistris
templum templi n. templo templis

In the third declension, the dative endings are:

word dative singular dative plural
rex regis m. regi regibus
navis navis f. navi navibus
litus litoris n. litori litoribus
mare maris n. mari maribus

These endings are added to the base of the word. You can find the base of a third declension word by removing ·is from its genitive singular.

Adjectives

In first and second declension adjectives, the dative endings are:
